JRuby Architecture in the Enterprise

Good afternoon, all. If you’ve ever been curious about what I’ve been working on for the past 6 months, here’s a bird’s eyey view of just some of the architecture I’ve partially inherited and improved upon immensely. For me, it’s probably one of the most interesting projects I’ve worked on, so I thought I’d share a little bit with my fellow developers. Core technologies include JRuby, JBoss and Mongrel for local development, JNI and distributed Ruby (DRb). There’s lots more, but too much to list here without going into too much detail.

I hope you find this crude paint drawing interesting and informative. Enjoy. Have fun and try this out at home!

I’d love to hear how you have improved upon it immensely.
